Ride of Hope

NESTALES: Hidden treasures, extraordinary stories from Nesties.

A cancer survivor’s tale.

It was 2013 when Harteij was in his last semester of his BA LLB when he found out that he was in the 3rd stage of cancer. By the time he completed his graduation cancer went into the last stage. In 2014 May he shifted to Hyderabad and took 12 chemotherapies. In 2015 he started yoga followed by working out at the gym to get his immunity back and finally, in 2016 he started looking for a  job for himself. But the recruiters refused to accept his medical history stating that he won’t be able to handle the work pressure. On 31st March 2016 he decided to do a solo ride across India for cancer awareness,  on 1st May he started his campaign ‘Ride of Hope’ from Raipur, Chattisgarh and within 5 months he travelled 20000 KMS travelling 15 states visiting all Cancer Institutes, schools and offices. During these visits, he shares his cancer journey experience and the dos and don’ts during and after cancer’s cured. He now counsels cancer patients and has a group called Riders of Hope where if anyone has blood requirement anywhere in India, he arranges it at the earliest for free. He runs marathons for all kinds of awareness and volunteers at social events as well.

He was recently chosen amongst the top 25 riders of India by Wrangler’s True Wanderer.
Where he travelled 5000Kms in 5 days travelling from Dhanushkodi to Rann of Kutch, capturing the true culture and essence of our beloved country.
